The Sons of Liberty were a secret organization formed in the American colonies during the period of increasing tension leading up to the American Revolution. They were a group of American colonists who opposed British policies and acts of taxation without representation imposed on the colonies by the British government.

They emerged in the early 1760s, primarily in the cities of Boston, New York, and Philadelphia, but had affiliated chapters throughout the colonies. The founding members included influential figures such as Samuel Adams, John Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock, and Patrick Henry.

The Sons of Liberty conducted protests, organized boycotts, and engaged in acts of civil disobedience against British authorities. They were responsible for various notable events, including the Boston Tea Party in 1773, where members of the Sons of Liberty dressed as Native Americans and dumped tea into the Boston Harbor to protest the Tea Act.

The organization played a significant role in mobilizing public support for the American Revolution and fostering a spirit of resistance against British rule. The Sons of Liberty acted as a catalyst for political activism and helped unify the colonists in their struggle for independence.

Our Sons of Liberty pint glass is an ode to the second iteration of the Sons of Liberty flag after England banned the original Rebellious Stripes flag from being flown.
